You are welcome to join one of Yo’s Choirs which are all-age, all-ability and all-embracing!

Yo teaches the songs to carefully include and encourage everyone, bringing out the best and nurturing simple harmonies and (when people are ready) solos…

Each session is one hour & we meet weekly in school term-time

The Singing Teapot Choir

meets Tuesdays in term-time

10.30am at Dore and Totley URC

£5 per session

The ‘Family Choir’

meets Wednesdays in term-time

4pm at St Marys Bramall Lane

The ‘Meersbrook Community Choir’

meets Thursdays in term-time

4pm at Meersbrook URC (sometimes in the park!)

£5 plus termly membership

Since 2012, Yo has been involved in other Community Music projects including Food Glorious Music (est 2015) bringing singing and guitar tuition to people on the frontline of food poverty living in Gleadless Valley and Sharrow…..

Yo’s Food Bank Choir was used as a research project for successful National Theatre production ‘Faith, Hope and Charity’ and helped launch the Church Action on Poverty Charity ‘End Hunger UK’ campaign in 2019

Yo is excited to be involved in the ‘Reasons to Sing’ project with Steel City Choristers

In 2022, she prepared a Community Choir at Parsons Cross Initiative (PXI) to sing with Steel City Choristers

Trained as a Primary teacher, Yo has loved working in primary schools running choirs using Fischy Music resources. She has taught singing in schools for Sheffield Music Hub and hopes to continue and develop this work
