Yo has been singing all her life!
From a singing Family, she began church choral singing from age 7 in a 4-part choir.
She led music in church worship from age 15 and has been the music leader at St Marys Bramall Lane for over 25 years
Yo has loved singing in all sorts of choirs in Liverpool, London and Sheffield including Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus, Duke Street Gospel Choir and currently Sonority Women’s Chamber Choir
Yo’s personal passion is Jazz singing
…. including ten years as lead singer with Jellybean Jazz as well as a functions Jazz Duo with pianist Chris Noble
Yo has regular appearances at John Street Kitchen Jazz Lunches alongside Sheffield’s finest Jazz musicians including Chris Walker, Nicola Farnon, Ryan Taylor, and Phil Johnson
Other performances include years of fun with The Dry Stone Wailers (folked-Up 80’s covers band) and duo slots with Paul Newman at Sheffield’s ‘Cubanas’
Yo has sung numerous solos at weddings, parties and funerals, is a David Clover Festival Prize-Winner and has earned ABRSM Distinctions
